Lindsay Broadband offers Iskratel’s SI3000 Lumia XG8 XGS-PON OLT, which allows operators to avoid an entire investment cycle while transforming their network towards software-defined, next-generation access.
With 8 XGS-PON ports serving 2,048 users at a 1:256 split ratio, the XG8 delivers performance fit for residential, business and backhaul use cases. A 4-port enabled XG8-4 that supports 1024 users at a 1:256 split ratio is also available.
The XG8 uses programmable hardware, maximizing its network processor while allowing software updates to enable new features. Only configuration options turn this OLT from a traditional OLT into a virtualized pOLT with control plane software running in the cloud. Zero hardware upgrade is needed to virtualize the central office, allowing operators to avoid an entire investment cycle, while relying on hardened and custom hardware to provide critical edge access dependability.
The XG8 excels in compactness. The ETSI-compliant 235 mm (9.25”) depth saves rack space by mounting back-to-back (providing 16 ports in 1RU) or fitting into front-access-only outdoor cabinets or closet spaces.
