IP/Wireless Infrastructure Specialist

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and working closely with internal and external associates, the IP/Wireless Infrastructure Specialist will work closely with our production and design groups to assist with the support and administration of IP-based wireless platforms. This position requires a background in IP networking and deep knowledge of wireless communications protocols. It provides system level exposure working on next-generation products for the broadband industry.

This is a permanent position located in our Peterborough, ON manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:

The following duties outline, but do not limit, the regular position requirements. These may be revised from time to time as business conditions dictate, at the discretion of the Manager.

Recommend unique approaches to radio solution integration from a technical and business perspective
Demonstrate technical problem resolution, situation analysis, testing strategies and fault reproduction
Provide expert-level support for customer evaluation of integrated solutions, including answering technical questions and assisting in resolving customer needs
Create and maintain all related documentation including material lists, operating manuals, troubleshooting reference guides, upgrade procedures, and deployment strategies
Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, partners and customers to ensure seamless introduction of new technology, platforms and services into production
Provide feedback to Engineering regarding identified network design and performance problems
Assist in system level wireless networking designs using switches, routers, access points and PoE devices
Distill knowledge through training sessions to Production and Engineering teams

Qualifications:

The following criteria are the minimum qualifications required for this position:

Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience with wireless platforms
Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience with IP networking
In-depth knowledge of Wi-Fi standards, especially in high density environments
In-depth knowledge of LTE standards, with configuration and system-level experience
In-depth knowledge of RF propagation, board-level components, antenna selection, and factors that affect the quality of experience in a multi-access environment
Other RF-related experience considered an asset, please describe
Working knowledge of operation of lab test equipment to collect results on temperature performance, power consumption, latency, throughput, spectrum analysis and fault monitoring
Demonstratable experience soldering and working with board-level components an asset
Excellent technical troubleshooting, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
Self-motivated, high energy, flexible and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
Travel – this position requires a legal ability to travel internationally as needed (< 25%)
Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19
