IP/Network Support Specialist (revised)

Peterborough, Ontario

Position Summary:

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager and working closely with internal and external associates, the Systems Support Specialist will assist with the development, design and testing of Lindsay Broadband’s next generation of IP Infrastructure products. This is an excellent opportunity to broaden an existing digital skillset towards specific goals in the cable television and telecommunications industries.

This is a permanent position located in our Peterborough, ON manufacturing facility.


  • Configure and maintain lab equipment relative to development and support tasks
  • Interface with internal departments to meet delivery expectations while prioritizing workload
  • Interface with external customers to identify support requirements and resolve issues
  • Provide remote demonstrations and training of solutions to customers
  • Increase organization and efficiency of engineering processes through CI/CD
  • Understand product focus and assist with qualifications and improvements
  • Development and operation of lab servers to ensure application uptime, authentication, logging, reporting
  • Provide feedback to engineering regarding identified network design and performance problems
  • Represent Lindsay professionally in all aspects of the position


The following criteria represent qualifications that are required for this position (or equivalent, describe):

  • Diploma or Degree in Computer Programming or Computer Science, otherwise must be able to provide portfolio
  • Systems Administration experience in a Linux or Windows environment
  • Experience working in Tier 1/2 service or support role
  • Experience with web development; REST API a significant asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others at all levels in the organization
  • Excellent organizational, time management and follow-up skills, with ability to multitask
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19

The following criteria represent qualifications that are an asset for this position:

  • Experience with self-hosted services, security, infrastructure reliability or VPNs
  • Programming experience with YANG, JSON, NETCONF
  • Programming experience with Docker or container management platforms like Kubernetes
  • Database management experience with PostGreSQL or similar
  • Understanding of system resource monitoring, logging and telemetry tools
  • Experience with SNMP, FCAPS, Operational/Business Support Systems
  • Knowledge of Wi-Fi, LTE and PON standards
