Lindsay Broadband has announced that they have stepped up their activities in HFC based Small Cell deployments. Lindsay began their Small Cell product line about 4 years ago, working closely with a Major MSO, to develop HFC Network centric products for powering and backhauling Small Cells. These products allow Third Party Small Cell (SC) vendors to utilize their existing radios to operate on the MSOs network with Lindsay providing the powering conversions/stabilizations along with backhaul (DOCSIS or Optical) capabilities.
“Lindsay Broadband was not only the first to enter this market, but is also the only Small Cell Gateway Vendor to have actual large-scale deployments”, says David Atman, President of Lindsay Broadband Inc. “We earned our place and now we are aggressively working with most of the Small Cell Vendors to provide solutions going well into the future.”
Lindsay Broadband is working with four major MSOs and three major Mobile Network Operators (MNO) in the US, in testing, trials and current deployments. They have developed solutions that provide AC, DC and POE++ powering solutions from the “strand”, basically incorporating all possible powering scenarios. This allows Mobile Providers the capability to choose the “Best of Breed” SC technology for their deployments while keeping overall budgetary costs to a minimum.
“We have taken the approach of working with all aspects of this market.”, says Jonathan Haight, VP of Sales at Lindsay Broadband Inc. “By opening the communication lines with MSOs, MNOs and Vendors, we are able to respond quickly to changes in trends and technology.”
Lindsay has also been working with Operators in Central and Latin America, Europe and Canada, providing SC solutions. In addition, Lindsay has expanded this Gateway Platform to provide similar powering and backhaul (optical and DOCSIS) capabilities to LoRA (Long Range) Gateways in support of Internet Of Things (IOT).
Lindsay will be show casing their technology at the SCTE Expo in Denver, Oct 2017 and Small Cell Forum in San Jose, CA in Dec 2017.
